Hamburg in Northern Germany is my second favourite city boasting a great nightlife and cafe culture
It is, indeed, the second town of Germany after Berlin. The intense port activity of the city made its richness and drew its architecture durably. The port thus constitutes a visit impossible to circumvent at the time of the discovery of the city. This port activity, in addition, led to the construction of a very particular district of Hamburg, the district of the warehouses: Speicherstadt. The city in addition is crossed by multiple channels which make the center town very attractive and green. There is a good range of quality parks to be enjoyed in the summer.
Another point of interest of the town of Hamburg is the basin of Alster. It is composed of two water levels (Binnenalster and Aussenalster) on which it is pleasant to sail and whose bank constitutes a particularly pleasant walk. At the edge of this water level, Jungfernstieg is a very popular roadway. The monuments are located as much in the old city than in the new city. On a side, medieval churches and half-timbered houses, other, the town hall néo-rebirth and the St-Michel church of which the dome, commonly called “Michel”, is an emblem of the city. For those on a luxury travel budget, there is a large range of luxury hotels in Hamburg centered around the old town. For those on more of a student budget, there is a great range of hostels around St Pauli.
