Vienna is almost 1500 years old, which should tip you off to the fact that there is plenty to see and do during a weekend in Vienna. What’s more, due to how airy and spacey the entire city is, it simply calls out to you to explore its many tall buildings, the statues, the gardens, and of course the many clubs, and cafes that are scattered throughout the streets.
One of the stops that you need to make while in Vienna includes a visit to Stephansdom known as ‘Steffi’ to the locals which is a Cathedral that sits directly in the city centre and is a mix of Gothic and an adorable blemished style. The stunning 136m south tower of the cathedral is also quite a sight to behold and explains why it took almost 75 years to complete the entire structure.
Once you get over the Steffi you will want to head towards the Hofburg, which is the Imperial Palace left over from the time period in which Vienna was ruled by the Hapsburg Emperors. Here you will find plenty of horses, Vienna choir boys, and some jewels that will stun and amaze you in their size and clarity.
