Cologne at night
Cologne is the fourth largest metropolitan city in Germany and is becoming a certifiable hotspot due to the presence of a brilliant waterfront and its large significance as the actual cologne capital of the world ironically enough. Outside of its famous fragrances, Cologne is also renowned as the home of Kolsch beer and opera houses.
Historically there are an abundance of landmarks to see while touring the city including the Cologne Cathedral, the 12 Romanesque Places of worship, Cologne University, and the Farina fragrance museum. You also will want to take a minute to peer up at the skyline to spot the Kolnturn which is an architectural beauty and the largest building that sits on the skyline.
Shopping is also plentiful and the city is known for spots such as Ehrenstrass and Schildergasse where eccentricity is generally viewed as a positive attribute. Take some time to stop in the modern museums of the city such as JavaMusuem and to indulge your sweet tooth as well given the Chocolate Musuem offers enough to keep anyone happy regardless of age. As an added bonus, the high speed railway makes sure that you will get anywhere you need to be cheap and easily so that you can fit everything in while in Cologne.
