Anyone that thinks that people in Belgium do not know how to party has obviously never been to Bruges, where there are plenty of pubs and bars to prove otherwise. In fact, with excellent pub fare and excellent drinks that reach across all budgets, Bruges is a great place to spend a weekend holiday. The following are just a few of the best pubs in Bruges that are worth checking out.
First up on the list is De Garre, which is practically hidden in what appears to be a backyard making it a place that you have to know about to visit. The pub has a great atmosphere to it and features hundreds of different types of beers making it a guarantee that you will find something for everyone. Those who are brave will want to try the house beer named ‘Triple de Garre’ that is a solid 11% of alcohol.
Another great pub in Bruges is also one of the city’s oldest, the Vlissinghe Tavern, which is pretty authentic and not so frequented by the tourists. Here you can find plenty of bottled beers and drafts surrounded by a structure that was built in 1915 so you are not going to find a much more authentic experience.
Finally, for a cosy place to indulge in a few beers head over the Druid’s Cellar where you can enjoy some beers in an underground basement that features rock music and on the weekends a nice slice of live music. Make sure to try out some of the beer and the aged whiskey that the Cellar is known for.
