Motorhome holidays in the UK set to make a big increase in 2010 as families seek to reduce the cost of holidays

Motorhomes have along been an icon of American travel in the United States and this trend has started to spread across Europe as more and more families are looking for ways to reduce the cost of holidays in light of the financial crisis.

Whilst the United kingdom might not have the expansive National Parks such as those around the Grand Canyon in the United States, the UK does have national parks across Britain. The South Coast in the UK offers some spectacular and unspoilt beaches with camping sites nearby where you can stay with your motorhome and use it as a base to explore the region or simply enjoy the beaches (weather permitting).

National Parks in the UK are also ideal for budget holidays, with a great range of motorhomes for hire available to suit all types of budget. The great thing about motorhomes is that these provide you with the mobility and flexibility to truly travel around and explore regions. The best feature of all, if you don’t like a place, you can easily move on to the next without any problems or delay.

It’s not because you are in a motorhome or camper-van that you can’t be comfortable. For those with a higher budget, there are some very comfortable and luxurious motorhomes available that can comfortably fit an entire family. Whilst this type of holiday might be a good option for families, the unpredictable weather conditions in the UK are a factor which deters me from taking this type of trip in the UK. I think I will try to save up for a trip to somewhere warmer such as the Canary Islands or Greece.
