Stockholm on a shoestring budget

Stockholm is the capital of Sweden and found along the east coast of the country. It is home to a wide variety of museums and parks making it not only one of the cleanest capitals of the world, but also one of the best places to head if your holiday budget is a bit tight.

For instance, a trip to Djugarden Island can easily take up an entire day and is easily reached via one of the many bridges that extend from the city center of Stockholm. On the island you will find plenty of parks, green areas, scenic sights, and a cultural center where you can simply walk around the area and take in everything the island is known for. In addition, there is a walking tour, an old fashioned tram, and some outdoor activity areas for children to work off some energy.

If the weather is not so pleasant during your trip you may want to head indoors for some cover at the top rated museums that are spread throughout the city such as the Moderna Museet where you will find some great 20th century artworks or the Vasa Museum which features many warships and historical artefacts.
